Andrée thinks about sound the way a tarot reader thinks about the cards. A card is never only a card: it corresponds to a planet or a season, a temperament or a part of the body. Sounds, songs and lyrics work like that for him. A rhythm or a refrain can stand in for something in a life and carry what words and drawings can't.
That is why songwriting is one of his performance tools. In his own pieces, a song can open a door that a scene would have to argue its way through. For other artists, he composes sound and works on dramaturgy, looking for the sound that corresponds to what their piece is trying to say.

Chantilly
Chantilly is Andrée's current musical moniker, built on making the kind of songs he wanted to hear. The project started in 2022, and there is more to be released.
HYLES
HYLES is a concept-techno duo with the actress and classically trained flautist Llewellyn Reichman, between Brussels and Berlin. Deep bass meets classical flute, and a live set lands somewhere between a rave and a sonata.
Zachary Airhorn 2014 to 2019
Zachary Airhorn is Andrée's oldest project and a retired name. He wrote and performed songs as Zachary Airhorn from 2014 until the project ended in 2019. It began on borrowed guitars, playing only the lowest string because he couldn't play chords yet. Like a Snake in a Nature Reserve came out of that: a looping song in which the narrator slowly turns into the snake he is singing about.
The video was shot in 2015 in a green-screen studio in Amsterdam North, during a film workshop at the Rietveld Academie, with Jorne Tielemans as director of photography and Jaïr Mahazri on camera. In 2018 it was part of the Special Selection of the International Brussels Dance Film Festival.
